You used to work for someone else. A rival corporation. A frontier government. A religious order. An academy. The specific identity is in your file, somewhere, and Solace has been clear that they trust you. They have also been clear that they're watching you. Your old colleagues consider you dead, a traitor, or both. The new ones smile and don't sit too close. You crossed over for a reason, and you don't fully know yet whether it was the right one.
▌ Tier modifier
+1 Voice, −1 Heart. You've spent your career managing relationships through performance. Sustaining genuine emotional connection is harder than people who knew you as the smiling negotiator might guess.
▌ Perk · Read the Room
You have spent years reading people for tells, motives, and shifts in loyalty. Once per scene, when you observe an NPC interacting with you or someone else, you may ask the GM one question about their motivations or current state of mind, and the GM must answer honestly: what do they want from this conversation, what are they afraid of, what are they hiding, who do they answer to. You may not ask the same question of the same NPC twice in one session.
