The Junior Surveyor

+1 mind · −1 body

You came up in Solace. You memorized the form numbers before you finished school. You survived your internship — three years of office work, classroom protocols, supervised exercises in controlled worlds — and now you have your certification. You know the office politics, the names of the senior surveyors, the unwritten rules of who eats lunch with whom. You believe in the mission — or you did, until they sent you Out for the first time, and the briefing did not match the place. Now you are Out here, with a kit that suddenly seems light, asking yourself questions that aren't on any of the forms.

Tier modifier

+1 Mind, −1 Body. You spent your formative years behind a desk learning protocols, not training your body for fieldwork.

Perk · Procedure Reflex

You have memorized so many Solace procedures that the right one occasionally surfaces just in time. Once per session, when the GM describes a situation you face, you may declare you remember a relevant procedure or precedent that gives you an advantage — the official safe-protocol for that world type, the regulation that lets you commandeer that resource, the precedent that grants you authority to make a decision. The GM works the procedure into the fiction; you gain +1 Effective Tier on your next related roll.
